Best multi tool for any/all situations ?

I own an original Leatherman 300 and recently bought a Surge. Had I known about the Wave Plus it would have been my pick. IMO the Wave Plus has all the tools I use most plus replaceable wire cutter jaw AND scissors
without the bulk and extra weight. The perfect compromise...

Leatherman Rebar. It has what I need and use the most.

I like my old Gerber because my wife got it for me, but the plier handles come completely together and can intensely pinch one's Palm, so I use it for non plier work.

That's the one I picked up a little while back- Wave Plus. Like the idea of being able to replace the wirecutters on them. I've had the cutters a few multitools get buggered up after using them- admittedly on things I probably shouldn't have tried cutting, but it's what I had on me at the time and is what it is.

I have a trio of Gerber 600 multitools. One in each vehicle (car, truck, boat). I keep a cigarette lighter, a couple feet of shrink wrap, fishing line/hook/bobber bandaids/neosporin and a compass in a little camera case. I’m fairly well covered for any basic repairs. I wouldn’t want to live off of it, but it’s a good setup and is small enough to not be a point of argument with the wife.

I have to go with the tried&true original Leatherman.
The why:
The selection of the original "blades" was excellent.
The size and shape means I'm WAAAAAAY more likely to have it on me or with me than some of these inspector-gadget tools offered now.
Every blade can be utilized single handedly.
Tough as nails - this one I've had, carried and USED for decades.

What this tool has done for me and those around me is truly amazing and almost defies belief. Talk about getting it right - right outa the gate!

What's NOT wrong:
It could have a saw blade for cutting and notching but the rasp-edge of the file has worked beautifully.
It could have other than the tiny tab for a lanyard but would give away the slimness that ascertains that I WILL carry it.
It could have or be so many more things that would make it inconvenient enough or cumbersome enough that I might have not had it any one of the myriad times it's been there for me - right to-hand.

One side note.... NEVER, even if in the Army, succumb to the fad of getting a flat black version. Still don't know where THAT one ended up!
