Where do you guys get your stuff? I was just looking at a 2-pc belt at Shooter's Connection, but bailed when I read their return (or shall I say "no returns") policy. I'm not buying a belt sight unseen and then, if I try it on and it doesn't fit, I can't return it.

Also, how thick are those belts? Will HKS speed loader holders fit on them?

To me buying the belts, either the cr speed or the double alpha, is a tricky thing. They have videos about how to measure, etc. but when I bought mine the belt didn't match what the video said. IIRC the belt was about 4" bigger in actual measurement. I had to return it and get another size. It'd be best to call and actually talk to someone.
As for which brand I think it is mostly personal preference. They ain't cheap, so I'd go to a match or two and talk to people wearing them and look at them and see what you think you like best. Either brand will hold whatever you want to put on it.

You might want to go watch a few matches and ask what equipment is used first. I’m not saying I don’t own any HKS speed loaders but if I am shooting a timed match I use comp 3’s or moon clips, depending on the revolver.

As far as thickness what belt in particular are you talking about?

My 2 piece belts are
CR speed is 1.5” tall, .55 wide
DSG 1.17 tall, .55
Safariland 1.5 tall, .55 wide

1 piece “instructor” belts like the wilderness tactical or good bargain uncle mikes are 1.5” x .25 and are good too.

On the two piece belts like CR speed and Safariland size isn’t very critical because it’s an inner belt of “female” Velcro and an outer belt of “male” Velcro. The DGS does have a “buckle” on the outer belt though (has 6” of adjustment). The others just overlap.

Thanks. Yeah I can't use any of the Safariland stuff. The only speedloader they make for my gun is the Comp I (2s and 3s don't work). The comp 1 doesn't fit their 333 speedloader carrier, and it sits so deep in the HKS holder that I can barely get it out. That leaves me back at the HKS speedloaders and carriers.

What are you running?

I'm keeping to my policy of not making any purchase recommendations.

Having said that I would answer the OP question with two retailers. One is Shooters Connection, which is already rejected but is actually a great company for competitive shooters, the other is Competitive Edge Dynamics. Competitive Edge Dynamics is local to me, they don't have a showroom but I can call them up, place my order and pick it up. They sell DAA tackle.

Another suggestion would be to call The Revolver Supply Company or Ranch Products. Ask them about speed loaders there are others besides the ones being considered I personally would not shoot in USPSA revo with HKS speed loaders it's hard enough shooting revolver as it is, using the slowest speed loaders on the planet will just make it worse.

So....all you guys saying "Shooters Connection" surprises me. Their return policy is essentially "No returns." (Specifically, the policy is returns must be unopened and in their original packaging.) Do you guys just roll the dice that what you're buying is the correct stuff and you've never had to return anything? I've never had that kind of luck.

Speed Beezs (Speed loaders)

I don't know anything (literally anything) about the Ruger Redhawk 44 or this company but I have heard good things about them and have seen other competitors use them. My advice would be for you to contact them and tell them what you want to do, ask them to advise you on exactly what you need, and then see what they say:

^^^These speed loaders may or may not fit the Safariland pouch, I don't know.^^^

If not then maybe this: https://www.speedbeez.com/product-category/speedloader-pouches/44-magnum-pouches/

Most of the stuff I would get from there is gun parts, or boxes of targets. I understand your concerns regarding a belt though. For that, how about Amazon? https://www.amazon.com/s?k=uspsa+competition+belt

I've gotten a fair amount of stuff from Ben Stoeger pro shop. I like them.

Don't fret too much about belt sizing. The inner belt is velcro - it's infinitely adjustable. The outer belt is also velcro, and infinitely adjustable. You want some overlap at the ends (so the velcro on one end can grab the velcro on the other end), and, at the extremes, too much can get a little annoying... but "missing" one belt size up or down isn't likely to sink you. Don't get too fretful about it. Buy your normal belt size... chances are very good it'll be fine.

I bought the belt direct from Double Alpha as long as you like their products. Same with the holster. Good service, what I wanted was in stock and shipping was reasonable- Read: more than I could say about MidwayUSA.

Yea, would really hate to associate myself with the current world champ and 7 time National Champ.

btw, he doesn't own the shop either. His name is just on it. It's like Nike's situation with Jordan, kinda ;)

Don't get me started. They assess a "Destination Charge" above and beyond shipping costs to ship to Alaska, as if it somehow costs them more to package an item for Alaska.

I am mostly just replacing broken parts or gear. so Ive never actually returned anything.

Actually, it does cost more. That is UPS, not the vendor. I just sold some stuff on here to a member in the boon docks of Nebraska, and UPS hit me up with a Destination charge. ***, but USPS was more expensive so I had no choice.

Thanks. I've never heard of that. Certainly, all forms of shipping up here is more costly, but usually we just see a higher price; it's anew thing to see the customary higher price AND an additional "destination charge."
