Back during the ban I built up an AR on a Bushy lower. I'm looking to lay up a small stash of lowers now for future builds. I understand there are many more players in the AR lower market now. What are the best values, places to buy, etc... for lowers these days. I don't need the Colt, LMT, etc...names, but I do want a good combination of price and quality.

Thanks,

They say there's only two or three companies that actually manufacture AR lowers, everyone else just stamps their names on them.

Stag lowers are dimensionally sound and cheap, like $100 or so I think. I've been grabbing up DPMS and RRAs, they go for about $150/ea at my local dealer.

Correct. 4 companies produce 95%+ of all forged recievers.

As long as you avoid Olympic, Heese/Vulcan, and other cast ones, you'll be fine.

Recently bought a bunch of Stag lowers. Just as good as my RRA, Bushmaster, Colt, etc ones. Gunbroker.com usually has deals on multiple lower packages (<$100 each)

After transfer fees and stuff... you'll be lucky to get a better price than $100 or so...

Stag has been one of my favorites.

essential arms $87+S&H+$7 FFL fee
ameetec arms $90 delivered+$10 FFL fee
superiorarms complete w/M4style stock $233 OTD at local shop,
but I've seen them advertized for $230+S&H+FFL on the net.

prices listed for what I paid at the time of purchase, price may be higher now.

look in the equipment exchange on ar15.com, there's plenty of vendors selling, and some offer discounts to forum members.

I bought a Stag from the EE at arfcom. Stag seemed to offer the best combination of value & brand for the price. Depending on brand, expect to pay about $90-$130 for a stripped lower.
