Best "quality" pistol made?

My personal vote for a self-loading pistol:

ITM (aka Solothurn aka Sphinx) CZ-75 patterned pistols. All the design refinements of the CZ-75 with the legendary quality and precision of the Swiss. My AT-84 is one of my most prized handguns and I got it used cheaper than most of my CZs.

My personal vote for a revolver:

Dan Wesson. Their innovative user changeable tension barrels make them extremely versatile and accurate, particularly during long strings of fire when other long-barreled guns would start to string due to the heat. Fit and finish on the Dan Wesson line of revolvers is typically excellent. I prefer my Dan Wesson model 15 over the S&W Performance Center 646 I owned. The S&W was very finicky and didn't like being dirty at all. The Dan Wesson has never given me a single lick of trouble.

if by "quality" you mean a combination of reliability and best bang for the buck, then a tanfoglio witness for a autoloader and a taurus revolver. you could definitely stake your life on these.

I have a Walther P99, a Taurus PT92, and a Sig P220. I prefer the Sig. It feels the best in my hand (the weight and the Hogue grips), it's shoots phenomenally, and it's very tight.

I am in the market for a USP, beyond that, I don't know what would compare to the Sig..

Walther. Though no longer in production the P5, P5 Compact, P88 and P88 Compact are works of art. The P99 is no slouch either, I have three of them.

SIG!

love the P series, though I think the hi-power is the worlds best pistol - EVER

so ya gotta own some of 'em all: sigs, hk, glock, 1911s, BHP, ...
