Hi all,

I am going to start loading .45 Colt to shoot through a Uberti SAA clone and thought I'd start here by asking which reloading manual has the most extensive/best data for lead bullets?

Thanks

Heh. You and I are in the exact same boat...

I'm starting with the Lyman and the Loadbook. If there are other suggestions, I'm game...

The Hodgdon website has some good load data for the .45 Colt. I printed out a two page list of loads. Everything from light cowboy loads to "Ruger Only" wrist breakers. Great info there.

I'm trying to get some <800fps cowboy loads, so I'll stick to the lighter end of the charts. ;-)
That would be Red Dot or Promo or Trail Boss powder. (Clays or Clay Dot will also probably work.) Start with 250-ish grain lead bullets because that's what your gun sights should be regulated for.

Don't use Starline brass with such wimpy loads because it is too strong and won't expand enough to seal the chambers; use Winchester or Remington brass instead. HTH
