I feel like I've come across some good deals as far as getting my money's worth.

The CZ82 has been mentioned and I'll second that. I think I paid $180 for mine. I think the CZ82 is great pistol especially for that price. That leads me to some of the other Mak caliber guns. There's the P64 I got for $129 and the P83 I got for around $200. I also have a Bulgarian special edition that I got off the local classifieds for $250.

I have a Kareen MK3 Hipower clone I picked up for $250. Another clone I got, a new in box Arcus 94 with 16 rd mag, I paid $350.

I know I have some others. I'll have to take a look and see what else I've come across

Like a lot of the guys here that have been around 20-30+ years I've got pieces I bought "back in the day" that are now considered good values, but back then, it was the going rate ... even $69 SKS's, Makarov's for $129 & a couple CZ-52's for $79 ...

A few of the new guns I've bought in the last year or so that I felt were good values: a 4" Ruger MK III for $265, a Zastava PAP M85 AK for $485 ... and the AR market is so soft it's near the melting point; I built a Seekins billet upper & lower with top quality parts for about $1,300 and I bought a brand new KAC 300BO upper for under $1,000, a new a SiG 3000SSG for $1,300, a SiG TAC-OPS 1911 45 for $875 and it came with a SiG 1911-22 ...

Quality guns are always a good investment if you buy them at a reasonable price, take reasonable care of them ... and keep them long enough.

H&R Handi Rifles and the NEF shotguns, both excellent value.

I have a Buff Classic 45-70, and 20 ga , .410 bore, and wanting a 30-30 or 35 Rem.

Was lucky enough to find a steel trigger guard and fore end spacer and added them to the Buff along with a Creedmoor style sight.

Wait, are we talking value, or just good deals? I've seen both listed...

Used steel frame Kahrs consistently sell for $150 to $175 less than new in my area. And quick. $125 less than new, it doesn't move. Of couse, I only find these when I dont have the money...

I saw the P6/P225 mentioned... I missed out on the flood, and haven't found a good deal yet. I will admit I haven't actively looked in a while though. I was going to get one for the lady, but we've not been on the best terms for a while.

I have also handled and shot several well-used PT92s that had me considering adding one. They aren't as smooth as their Italian elders, but the more you shoot them, the smoother they get. (zips firesuit)

As far as good deals, I picked up a LN 10-22 for $100, no box, but it did come with a Ruger rifle rug. Got a stainless LNIB Colt 1991A1 for $550, lightly used MilSpec Springer for $450 out the door, and a Series I Kimber for $500. All were purchased simply because I liked them, they were good deals, I was young, single, and made good money... Times have changed, but I still have that Kimber.
Mine's probably a Ruger P95. $300 w/ two 15 rd magazines and case. Reliable as all heck!
I was going to mention that. I paid $250 for mine (used). Eventually traded it off, no sellers remorse, but I still think the P95 is an under rated gun.

Several years ago, I inherited a S&W .32-20 revolver. I got some ammo to shoot it, then found out how much it was worth. :what:

I haven't shot it since! :D

As for most "useful", that would probably be my Stevens Mod. 311 12 gauge SxS w/double triggers. It was bought used and had fixed F & M chokes. The same day I picked it up, I took it to the gunsmith around the corner and had him bore out the barrels and put in screw-in chokes. He told me later that this is essentially what Stevens did with the newer Mod. 511. Two chokes and two different loads either gives me two different animals or two different ranges on the same animal. ;)

Hi JTHunter,

How much is that S&W worth? A quick Googling finds two guns, one with filed down front sights (heh) for $495 and another in pretty nice shape for $995.

My S&W SW9VE that I paid $225...for that price, I'd take that everyday over the other budget models.

I've had or have two many to list but I've seen a couple mentioned that I own and will agree are good values
Any of the RIA 1911's and even the 206 snub ,I keep one in my truck
Savage MKII. Yes they are extremly accurate and even outfitted with a decent scope they still are worth every penny
Tristar/Canik CZ cones are outstanding examples and very reasonably priced
Hi point carbine while I don't have it anymore it really was a decent little gun
I have others that have come and gone but these few are worth mentioning .

Tisas 9mm 1911 for $350, HR M1 Garand from CMP for $600 & a Rem 03A3 from CMP for $600
Also, a Stevens 335 SBS 16 gauge from the local pawn shop for $175

My best USED to be a Sig P225 that I got for around $300 OTD. Sold it off to a friend who also got a great deal on it. Good little shooter that one was.

I picked up a Remington R1, unfired, for less than $500 back in the day, shoots as well as several of my 1911s that are twice that price.
