What's with all the Kimber box bashing? Mine's quite sturdily made with two clasps, each with their own hole for a lock. Removable padding on the top and bottom, too. Although I don't store the pistol in the case, I like the fact that I can keep the literature and disassembly tool under the bottom padding and not have any residual lube leak all over them when I travel via airline. Just used it over the holidays without a hitch...

My CZ PCR's blue plastic box inexplicably has an extra retention tab - in addition to the latches on the outside - that requires it to be either pushed in and disengaged with a tool or the box forced open. I cut off the offending part with a scissor.

A Sigarms GSR came in a very nice box, blue plastic with sliding tabs on each end.

My Glock, XD, Walther, and H&K boxes were all about the same in terms of overall quality. My Kahr box didn't even have foam or any padding.

Gee, I never really paid much attention to the stupid box. Call me crazy, but I am always more interested in what's inside the box .

I do keep them in case I want to sell them, but I have other means of taking them to and from the range, and I store them in a safe when not in use.
