Beware the politician who says "I support the 2nd Ammendment, but...."

Also, when you see "common sense laws", you know they are going to screw us.
Gun laws crafted by people who believe guns are evil and need to be banned are the opposite of "common sense laws". It is like appointing a person who believes that receiving modern medical treatment is a sin to a position responsible for creating laws governing medicine and defining malpractice. It's ridiculously idiotic.

I can believe a politician who says he supports the second amendment if he is routinely spotted buying ammunition for himself at a local gun shop, without any media in tow for a photo op. There are not enough of these individuals, and anyone else is suspect.

Every response I've received to letters and emails I have written to politicians started with I support the second amendment but... True weasel words. The one exception is my local rep. She is a true supporter. She and another rep attended a pro 2A meeting at a local gun club yesterday to help prep us to testify at the state house against the anti 2A trash bills that were submitted last week. 9 bills submitted in all, the worst of which were taking the 'shall issue' section out and making the AG the sole issuer of handgun permits. He has 'may issue' authority. He's notorious for denying permits. The second is an AWB.

I just watched "Shooter" again with Mark Wahlberg. Good viewing for anybody who hasn't watched it. It touches on how Washington operates behind the scenes. Yes, it's a little over the top but I have no doubt there are sects of people in Washington with their own agendas. Good for the tin foil hat crowd.
