I really like the Uncle Mike's Kydex paddle holster; I have one for my Glock 17 and for my 1911's. I contacted them to see if they made anything like that for a BHP, and they replied they didn't have anything in their product line. They said there isn't enough demand. Does anyone make a paddle holster like that for a BHP? I had a Fobus, and it was so flimsy in comparison; that's not what I want. I'm looking for that Uncle Mike's sturdiness.

Thanks...

Hi Mikey - well just for info' sake - I carried my BHP in a Horseshoe leather rig, kindly given to me by another shooter - which was designed for a 1911. Being so new and still quite rigid - it was a dream for the BHP. That was OWB which is my norm.

No pic I am afraid but - could be a 1911 rig version could suit you, tho if Fobus or Kydex then it may be a tad sloppy.

Haha - the spare tire LOL!

If you would like a pic of the rig I mentioned just holler - I can take one and post it.

It is IIRC quite expensive gear but I knew Andy Aratoonian slightly from back in UK and he makes superb rigs. Could be others who make nice tight 1911 rigs could be checked out. Kevin of K&D Holsters can come up with some nifty stuff too - and leather (IMO) will always be best.

Chris... sorry, I went to bed on ya... sure, you can post a pic, if you'd like. But, I hafta warn you, "Steelharp" and "expensive" are mutually exclusive terms... :) But, thinking about it, a leather paddle rig might be better for my BHP, anyway. They are such classy pistols...

Hey, is York, PA anywhere near you? I'm going to be there on Saturday at some fireman's thing, not the county fair, with Billy Walker from the Grand Ole Opry. If you want to come out, let me know... I think 45Badger is coming, but I can't swear to it; I haven't heard back from him.

Mikey - I will maybe try a pic of the rig later on - gotta go out this morn'. But price tho is quite high on Horseshoe stuff - but then it is quality gear too.

York is some ways off , probably over 2 hours run for me - and I have a big bike run Saturday - tho I would be more than delighted were we able to meet up. 45Badger is much nearer and so would not have so much travel (or gas!!).

Whatever - have a great weekend.

Here ya go Mikey - and for anyone else who may wonder what the rig is like. I did in fact have a shot taken before, actually being worn, but this is clearer. Gun is a tad burned out so as to get nice exposure on the leather itself.

It is positioned so as to reflect the effective cant when worn. 1911 actual design but here with BHP - worked great when I used it for carry for quite some weeks last year.

My only small criticism was that the slots were only big enough to take 1 1/4" belt.

I don't know about a paddle kydex holster, but in leather, Safariland's 560 is a paddle that's really comfortable for me. I have the 1911 model, and it works fine for Hi Powers, just adjust the tension screw.
