Anybody have experience with big bore air rifles? I have really become interested in one for longer range target shooting and hunting. Any recommendations?

Crossman now owns benjimin which makes pre charged to 25 cal.If you're paitent, and can get on Dennis Quackinbushes list there is a 30 and 45 cal pre charged he makes. There are also foreign made ones as well, but I like the Benji and would love to have a Quackenbush. There are a few other us made customs as well, just have a fat wallet.

I have a quackenbush bandit... It's near impossible to get a new one direct from Dennis though. There are several more options now than even a few years back.

Long range relative to powder burners is a joke, long range for an air gun... Ok

For me it was a novelty and I have plenty of other air guns and powder burners.

Big bore air guns take a lot of accessories in the form of tanks and fill assemblies etc.

For shear cost and practicality a single shot 44 mag or 45 colt will out due any big bore air gun I have seen.

If ya have the money and the interest go ahead they are fun....
