This is my Rossi 720 44 Special "Big Bore" weapon. I bought this new from a man in 2010. He never fired it. I have dated the born on date to 1994. When I bought it, it had the concealed hammer. I didn't like the weapon without a hammer. So I bought a hammer from Numrich for it. The double action is crisp, the single action rivals anything S&W has put out. Accuracy is superb.
I love this gun. Great carry size for ccw. Rock solid reliable. I roll my own and shoot 200 grn RNFP backed by 5 grns Unique. My ccw choice is Blazer Gold Dots in 200 grn. Any big bore ccw fans out here that feel the way I do of carrying a big bore for ccw? Any 44 Special lovers left?

I have a 720 also. They are fabulous. It's one of my favorite handguns to shoot. Everyone who shoots it likes it.

I've always preferred the .40-Something caliber. Here my Ruger Flat Top Blackhawk in .44 Special:

Carried this one for awhile, but can get one more round in the Flat Top:

But for the last couple of months, its been this Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt:

The only big-bore revolver I really have and carried is a Ruger Vaquero in 45 Colt. If we weren't in the revolver section I would count my 1911 in 45 Auto too.

Do you roll your own wadcutters? What do they weigh and what mold?

That is a fine looking Rossi 720. If I ever run across one face-to-face I'll buy it.

Until then I'll just keep carrying my .44 CA Bulldog.

Here are a couple other Big Bore snubs I sometimes like to carry.

S&W 629-5 .44 mag, 2,5" barrel, fixed sights, pre-lock

Customized 1917 Colt .45 acp

3" S&W 629 most of time but a 1911 when I need to be more discreet. I am looking for a good used CA bulldog to save weight.

OOPS I meant to send a pic of the 629 and am not sure how the bond arms got in, since I do not even own one.

I think this one will come out correctly. This 629 has seen a lot of use and has been carried for years. I have shot 44 special for SD and hunting. When I hunt something larger than deer I will use 44mag but 44 spl has been more than adequate 90% of the time.

I was using my SW696 (44 Special) for winter carry but late last winter got my Clement Custom .41 Special delivery. On a GP100 3", 38 Spl. platform I now have "big bore" with 6 rounds instead of 5 and adjustable sights.

I carry this concealed under a jacket or unbuttoned over shirt on trips to the woods. I'm in a "free state" now, but it was on my CCW permit when I lived in California. No one ever noticed the bulge in that state when I stopped for gas on the way to some wilderness somewhere.

I've been carrying a "prototype" sheriff's style 44mag Vaquero since last winter when it's cold enough to hide it, as well as a 2.5" Redhawk Kodiak Backpacker. 454c and 480R Alaskans are obligatory from time to time.

Thanks! I bought the grips off GB years ago for less than $100 shipped. They were incorrectly listed as K- frame grips. They didn't have S&W medallions originally but I corrected that by nervously installing a set.

The other side looks as good. Here are the same stag grips showing the other side (installed on a S&W 27-2)

I just started carrying a .44 spl Bulldog. Really like it. Haven't tried carrying the 5.5" Redhawk concealed, but did open carry it in the field in PA.
