Big Boy Revolver?

The more you guys from the old folks home 🏡 hate it, the more I LOVE it!

It’s RETO!
Just remember that you will get to the same place eventually----maybe. I do not hate the Henry revolver. I just consider it butt ugly and don't mind saying so. It has all the grace and charm of the very early motorcycles to be imported from Japan.

I am with @Mark_Mark on this one. I like the looks especially the round butt. If you offered me one of these Henry revolvers next to a Colt Python (old or new) I would take the the Henry. I am a big fan of fixed sighted revolvers with barrels longer than 2-inches.

This thread is also a fine example of why the firearms market's innovation has completely stagnated. Even modest cosmetic changes are met with overwhelmingly negative reactions and changes in actual function out right hostility.
It's a "to each his own" kind of thing. I'm all for innovation in design and function.
But the look, the materials and the way this one is put together just seems Chintzy to me.

For the record I think Ruger double actions are hideous as well, but I know they're well made guns that stand the test of time.

I honestly hope Henry is successful in this endeavor, and they continue to expand their lines.
This one is just not for me

that’s it! that’s why I like it! the styling is Early Japanese cafe racers!

You'd take a Henry over a OG Colt Python? LOL

I just sent Henry a message through their website to see what they say about the frame material.

I have yet to see a Henry revolver in person. My LGS apparently got some in and they sold right away. I would like to see one before pulling the trigger on buying another revolver. I have decided I want something different. I am considering a Chiappa Rhino but would love to put my hands on a Henry revolver in the square grip frame.

Wasn't gonna weigh in on this one until I had the chance to examine one in person.

LGS got one it. I came, I saw, I rejected it. Even uglier in person than the photos indicate.

Off-topic, but I have been waiting for many years to actually see even a single documented case where an individual was proven "killed on the streets" as a result of being unable to reload his (DA) Colt revolver quickly enough due to having to thumb the cylinder release back vice push it forward...

dang! I guess I’m the old guy here then! lol

You ain't even in the runnin'. I quit hunting when the dinosaurs became extinct because the mammals were wimpy in comparison. I am pretty sure some others here did the same. We didn't even have dirt back then. And every path was uphill. At least it didn't snow, only rained.

Tell me, what was it like when color was invented?

Weird... I can operate Colts, Rugers, and Smiths without a problem. Same with heel releases, button releases, and paddle releases for semiautomatics.

It ain't the arrow, it is the Indian.
Show me your 2-second Colt revolver reload. There is a reason you never see Colt's at USPSA matches. Cylinder release goes the wrong way and it's too easy to out run the double action trigger.

At that level sometimes it is the arrow.

Bet I could bet those Colts SAA in a USPSA matches with this Bill Grover - the load gate on the proper side!

It looks like an old movie prop gun , where they tried to make a double action and make it look like a "cowboy" gun . A shroud for the ejector rod would go a long way .
one of my favorite part is the un-shrouded ejector.

i also like useless Ruger #1’s and Hand Ejects, and Black Powder cap guns - so my styling is weird (i guess)

I like revolvers, and the Henry looks interesting, but it's more money than I'm willing to pay in order to own yet another medium-framed 38/357 revolver.

My upper limit for a handgun purchase is around $500 OTD. If/when I can get a Henry for that, I might do it.

That revolver should be $400 OTD at best. Anyone who claims they'd prefer this monstrosity over a Colt, Smith, or Ruger (the latter two can be had for the same price point) should have their eyes and heads examined. 🙂

It's going to flop. Period. So I suggest anyone who want to try one to hold out until they're being sold at cost before being discontinued. The overwhelming response for the firearm community is barf.

Maybe it's because S&W and Ruger have been in the game for much longer, and both companies manufacturer revolvers specifically for competition use???? Maybe because there's much larger aftermarket and more machine shops and gunsmiths for Smith and Ruger than there are for the 3 year old Python? If Colt/CZ creates revolvers specifically designed to compete in USPSA and IDPA, I guarantee you will start see them.

You want to know what you'll NEVER in a million years in USPSA, IDPA, or any other competitive shooting sport? This thing:

my tacticool shop can’t keep them on the shelves! I’m ready for a .44 special or even keep it real with a 32-20 or even a 44-40
