Reds Fan Arrested After Parole Officer Spots Him on 'Kiss Cam'

CINCINNATI — A man wanted on a parole violation was returned to jail after his parole officer spotted him kissing his girlfriend in a live crowd shot on the scoreboard at a Cincinnati Reds game.

David Horton and his parole officer attended the same May 7 game when the smooching couple were caught by the "Kiss Cam" (search) at Great American Ball Park.

The parole officer and a police officer arrested Horton, 24, at his front-row seat, and he was taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center.

"Out of all the coincidences, we had 20 or 30 thousand people at the ballpark and who do they put on the 'Kiss Cam'? And then, who is there but his parole officer?" said Richard Goldberg, Horton's attorney.

Horton, of Cincinnati, was convicted of felonious assault in 1999 for stabbing two men. He was granted release after serving two years of a four-year prison sentence.

Horton had been arrested March 27 and was indicted in Hamilton County for trafficking and possession of cocaine. He is accused of failing to appear in court on those charges.

If convicted, he could face up to 18 years in prison.

Good work. Big Brother usually requires intentional surveillance, rather than getting lucky. Serendipity plays little part in Big Brother's world.

I don't see any difference betwen this and his Parole Officer seeing him on the street. Now if the government had installed the camera for the express purpose of watching the public it might be different.

The Reds are a PRIVATE sports franchise, not a governmental entity.

The government didn't install the camera, the Reds did.

The government doesn't operate the camera, the Reds do.

The Reds don't have parole officers on staff, the gov't does.

This is simply a case of a moron who doesn't know when to keep his tongue in his own mouth.

Violent felon violates parole. He should go back to jail.
Good Job. What would the public's reaction be if they found out that the PO saw him but didn't do anything about it because he was off duty at the time? It would have been much easier for the PO to just continue enjoying the game and not do anything.

Lucky police work. A little stupidity on the part of the parolee combined with a twist of fate made it happen.

It was a privately-owned cam in public; big brother had nothing to do with it.

I'll bet the parole officer was laughing his butt off for that one. He'll tell the story at work every day until the end of his career.
