I forgot about it. Is there going to be any reloading supplies there?
I'd go if I knew what was there. I went a few years ago and it just didn't do it for me.
Thanks

NVMM, its hard to say if there will be many vendors with reloading supplies. At the last one I did see some powder, primers and bullets. I did get a real good deal on an Enfield, it was a privet party sale. I was going to go tomorrow but a couple things came up so it looks like Sunday will be the day.

A Report Please

I couldn't make it, so if you did... how 'bout a report?
Anything interesting?
Lots of good stuff?
Did you buy anything?

Enough good stuff to make your eyes glaze over! I found a reloading manual I'd been looking for. I didn't find a book on the Springfield '03 I'd been looking for. I did get to meet the folks who make some really nice concealed carry vests over in Lincoln, CA. They have a nice, oilcloth vest that can carry two small guns.

Lots of guns. Really interesting to look at a FNP90 up close, very high tech, $2500 price tag---but nowhere near a heavy enough caliber for me. Give me a .308/30-06 rifle anyday over a smaller round.

I did find a guy who was selling a type of holster like the Smartcarry, but thinner and of a tough nylon material. I bought one for $30 and so far it seems to work well.

Oddly, what I didn't find were any of the custom grip makers! A few years back I stumbled on a gun in a pawn shop with some sort of very soft, almost padded type of grips. The shop didn't know what they were and I've always wanted to see if I could find someone to make a grip like that. The grip was almost like the soft grips you find on the Taurus revolvers.

So, one book and one holster!

I went all day on Friday. It was my first 'real' show (as opposed to the 'Crossroads of the West' type), and while it was an impressive sight to behold, I found very little to interest me. I had no idea it was going to be so much collectible and rare rifle, so $20K Winchesters were just a tad out of my budget.

I went looking for AK and reloadign stuff and found little. Now, if I had a 10/22 or an AR, I'd have been in hog heaven. Best deals I scored were a spare mag for my Buckmark pistol and a nice pair of compact Simmons binocs, both from one vendor. All in all, I probably won't go back, unless I happen to be in Reno for some other reason.

OH yeah, if you haven't yet, a visit to the Cabelas in Verdi is a must. Simply amazing how much stuff they carry and the size of the store. Prices are decent, but once you're in there, your wallet starts calling your name. The African animal diorama is really impressive (lion, elephant, zebra, kudu, cheetah, etc.)

I'm right by Lincoln...what company is this? I wouldn't mind checking them out myself.

Thanks,

Ed

Thanks for the Reports

Sorta sorry I missed the show.
There's 7 of us here, we should meet at the next Big Reno Show?
I was more interested in reloading supplies.

If that Enfield is a 303 I have an old box of factory shells (super x and rem, 21 I think) you can have. If your up in my area PM me and we can try to meet somewhere.

I was only able to spend a little over a hour there and was on a mission to find a .380 magazine for an old colt pocket auto. Found a brand new one still in colt packaging for 30 bucks. Not a bad price.

Lonevking summed it up pretty good with his post.

We all should try and get together for the next one coming up in October.
