Went to the range today for some target practice, when I finished I made the mistake of browsing the display case and there, low and behold, was the unobtainable Colt Cobra Target.
I will be able to pick it up Wed. I have a hard time passing up anything with the prancing pony.
Sad thing is in 1972 I paid $375 for a 6" Python. The world has not changed for the better.:(

I also recently fell off the wagon and jumped on the prouncing pony. My Target king cobra has so far been a keeper.

I didn’t know that they made this model. After reading the specs I must admit that this might be a Colt that I might like to have. Thank you for posting, brutus51. Please tell us what you think of it once you get some bullets down range. Very nice looking revolver. I am envious. :D

My new king cobra is probably the finest shooter I’ve ever had (other than colt competition 38 super i sold to get the KC). It’s a Cadillac with std pressure specials in it

A stainless Police Positive in .357 Magnum, with target sights, a heavy barrel with a big underlug, large grips, and a beefy top strap.

Nice.

I wouldn't carry it, so a larger frame might be preferable.

Yeah, it's my favorite inn when I'm passing through Bree. (LOTR reference)

Great gods, yes! I paid right about that price for my first Python in '74.

It's gone up in value considerably. (Thank you Sheriff Rick! and the writers of The Walking Dead.)

$375 in 1972 is worth $2,350 today, I'm sure you can still find an old Python for that.

Picked the Cobra up yesterday, took it home and cleaned it, gave it a good lookover, put it in the safe. I'd post a picture butSnake did that for me, mine looks just like his. Now I gotta load up a couple hundred 357 target loads and maybe 100 full house loads. Going to take it to the range Sunday along with my Python and my DW 715 for comparison. Darn it I really needed to reload 38 Supers and .45 ACP's , this hobby is so demanding. :D

When the new Cobra was hard to find, I bought a Kimber K6S.

I really like it.

It's for SD.

To be frank, I much prefer the concealed hammer, for more than one reason.

Perhaps Colt will come back with hammer shrouds...

I handled one recently and liked it alot except it was very heavy for it's size. I checked the specs and found 36+ .oz on the target model ! Wow , for a five shot D frame with a barrel that length that is heavy ! Probably shoots sweet at the range with full on .357 tho.
