Since my birthday conveniently falls on a Saturday this year, I'd like to start by 30th year with a bang or a few. How about meeting up on April 24th at Cheatham Wildlife Management Area range around noon to burn some powder, followed by a party at my place (1025 Mountain Valley Lane in Nashville) starting around 5pm? Those who haven't been there yet, email for directions.

hmmm well that was my one last hope of a free weekend with no plans for this month. but oh well I can usualy be talked into shooting. if nothing else to hang out. ill mention it to darrin at work today also.

I'm there. Angie will be in Illannoy doing wedding planning stuff, so I'll be free all weekend. I've got some new toys to break in, so this will be the perfect opportunity.

Sounds like fun. I have a few new toys to play with too. Can someone shoot some directions my way.

You can get here by taking I-40 towards Memphis, and exiting on Old Hickory (exit 199). Left (East) on Old Hickory for about a mile, to a Mapco gas station (right). Immediately after it you will see a green sight reading "Madison at Ridgelake". Turn right onto Ridgelake drive and drive till you get to the T-intersection. Left turn, uphill and you will see #1025 on the right.

Congratulations, Oleg! BTW if you are going to be 30, that means you have completed 30 years and are starting number [gulp] 31.

Shoot well! :D

Pardon me for a short thread hi-jack, but...

For those of you planning to make it out to the range for Oleg's birthday, please plan on helping out with a little clean-up. I was out there today and it's already starting to slowly revert back to the condition it was in previously. I picked up quite a bit of brass, but there is still quite a bit more out there. Also, one of the 100 yard target stands has been burned down. Yes, that's right, I said burned down. It looks like someone's target may have caught fire and the whole stand burned.

So, if you show up, please bring a rake, a shovel, a broom, a dust pan, some trash bags, a bucket, a wheel barrow, or some other type of cleaning instrument. Let's set an example and help keep this range open for the public.

(You will now be returned to your previously scheduled thread.)

Frank

Edited to add: Ya'll might also want to bring some sort of bug repellant. The flies out there were the size of Chinook helicopters. (For those of you unfamiliar with the Chinook, it's the large one with two rotors.)

I also recommend bringing gardening gloves to protect your hands from the debris. I may be bringing some newbies along, too.

Folks from Knoxville and the adjacent states are most welcome to show up. Let m eknow if you are showing up, as I need to figure out how many people I'll have to host.

Oleg, I am definately there! Count me in.

Frank, I can't get my hands dirty, or sweat, or....Nah, just kidding. I will bring the trash bags:neener:

Here's the list of what I'm planning to bring:
SAR-1
Remington PSS
Oly Arms AR
Rossi .357 carbine
Rem 870 Police Magnum
Para-Ordnance C7-45 LDA
Rock Island 1911
S&W 686
Heritage Rough Rider
Beretta 3032
Kel-Tec P32

Dang, I didn't even know the Cheatham Co. Range had reopened.

I'll try to make it, but no guarantees. If I do I'll be sure to bring a rake, a shovel, and some gloves.

30, eh? Only 6 more years until you hit the first stage of old.

If anyone owns a .22 Kit gun or a .22 K-frame or an equivalent or a .32mag with laser grips, please bring it along. We may have a severely handicapped shooter comign along and I lack the proper guns with which to train her.

Oleg - 24 April Birthday

Oleg, I share the same birthday as you, 24 April. I'm celebrating my 36th tomorrow (Saturday)...just returned from a range trip here in B'ham, AL, so I probably won't make the one you're organizing....I'll try to make it up there some other time.

Happy Birthday, sir, and thanks for all you do! :)
