With some gun magazines recently doing pieces on Black Powder revolvers, now Guns America is doing a series on Black Powder and C&B revolvers that is sure to garner some additional interest in Black Powder among the uninitiated masses.

I haven't watched any of the videos, but the articles seem to be better done than other "mainstream" pieces I've seen.

We can use new BP shooters, but more folks looking for BP, Caps and guns isn't going to help the supply for the near future.
On the bright side, the more first time BP buyers out there the more likely some day we will see more and more pieces available on the secondary market.
Looking for all the silver lining I can find!

When I first started reading gun magazines way back in the early 1980s there were always articles on BP. I read mostly Guns & Ammo and Phil Spangenberger Always had one of his well written articles on pistols and rifles. Mike Venturino did too but I don't remember how many were on loose ball and powder. That was back when gun magazines had real articles and not just extended ad copy and no real information.

There is more interest since the civil unrest. Many cities restrict firearms
but black powder slips through. Black powder guns have limits but beat
no gun or a mean look. "hrfunk" did a good youtube video on black powder
revolvers for self defense. Imagine someone waving around a big percussion
gun in their defense. No one wants to see if that gun really works. If you have
a black powder revolver hold on tight, they are harder to get and climbing
in price. Like many forum members I sold most of my black powder stuff
some years back not realizing the future values. Hold what you have.

Unfotunetely, the more attention BP gets, the more likely it will be attacked as a "loophole" in the gun laws.

That is possible I suppose, but I don't expect that to happen.
Then again hope for the best and plan for the worst.
On a positive note, the more folks who enjoy and support BP the more who are likely to oppose and such nonsense.

I could see that happening, but on the other hand one of the arguments I always hear gun control advocates use is that when the second amendment was written the founding fathers didn't envision modern firearms with those evil high capacity magazines. That argument sort of goes out the window with black powder guns.

Wow, I also saw Pyrodex on Gun Broker, asking price at $40.00 a pound. It was $36 a pound in Wally world before completely going away.
