Which is generally cheaper in your area?

Which is cleaner?

Which is more accurate?

WalMarts around here sell 9mm in the brands above for the following price:

WWB: $10.99/100
Blazer Brass: $5.99/50 ($11.98/100)
Remington Green Box: $5.99/50 ($11.98/100)

My local Wally World is now up to $11.34 for the WWB Vaulepack 9MM FMJ. However, it is still less expensive than the other two brands.

I shoot mostly my reloads but WWB is $4.86 a box at Academy so I keep 2 or 3 thousand rounds on hand.

The WWB is very accurate. Not quite as accurate as reloads but close.

Don't shoor Blazer or Remington but would if the price was low enough.

Wolf or CCI Blazer aren't options since the only range within 25 miles doesn't allow non-brass casings.

Academy Sports in TX has Blazer Aluminum for $3.84 and Brass for $4.89. Winchester in the 50s box is $4.99.

I go for the cheap Blazer. Never had a problem. Once the clerk tried to chastize me, so I corrected him and suggested that gun store commandos should not chastize the customers.

Wow Wally World here sells WWB .45 acp for 20.95 per hundred, Wolf is 8.99 per 50 at Sportsmans Warehouse and at my favorite store, Shooters Den Mag Tech is 9.90 per 50. I like the magtech, It shoots weel is accurate and has good brass. The primer pockets are a bit tight but a twist with the reamer takes care of that.

WWB ... dont see blazr brass except at gun shows and its more than WWB no remington green box round here either

IME the aluminum cased Blazer and the Blazer Brass are much more accurate than the WWB, usually shooting groups an inch or so tighter at 25 yards, and the Remington stuff is junk. If you look at the Remington cartridges compared to the others, they are much shorter in overall length than the WWB or the Blazer, with might have something to with their (IME) lackluster accuracy.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

WWB at Wally World is the cheapest stuff around here, except for Miwall reloads that I usually get at the Gunshow ($89.95 per 1,000). WWB is $10.99 per 100. I use to shoot quite a bit of Blazer aluminum when I lived in Reno, never any problems with it.

Edgeofthewoods, what is "Shooter's Den?" Sounds like a great store. Do they have any in Minnesota?

Interesting that most replies havn't answered most of the poster's questions. How about accuracy and dirtiness? My personal opinion is that most of these brands, like most handguns, are more accurate than we are. We need to concentrate more on our shooting than what we feed our guns.

The Wally World near me....(South Jersey)....doesn't sell ammo, however we do have two sporting goods chain stores that do. Dick's Sporting Goods sells mostly Remington green box, and American Eagel. The Sports Authority sells nothing but WWB, but buying ammo from these places is a hit or miss propisiton since the salesman is required to hold a state certificate allowing him/her to handle guns & ammo in a retail establishment. There isn't always someone there with this "pink card", so it doesn't matter how cheap it is if you can't get it out of the store......

I normally reload my own, but the last 9mm I bought was from a place here called Lawmen Supply, they have the Remington green box in cases of 500 rounds for $59.00, and that's cheaper than the sporting goods stores sell it.

WWB is the ony pistol rounds that goes thru my guns. I'm happy enough with them. Blazer brass is still slightly more expensive than the WWB value packs. And the green box, do you mean the remington 100 pack JHP?

I have not shot Blazer so I can't comment on that. It's really a toss up between WWB and the Green box stuff. They're both pretty accurate but if I would lean towards one, it would be the Green box, at least in .45acp form.

Some people have been saying that the WWB has seemed to get dirtier, I have not personally seen that.

I just picked up some WinClean in .45acp and .38special today at Wally World because the closest range to me is pretty strict on what they allow.

With hardball, it's a tossup in my experience-all of them seem fairly close in performance and accuracy, though dirtyness varies tremendously even with the same brand (WWB in particular in my experience).

With their JHPs (Rem UMB and WWB), it's WWB all the way: they perform quite well mechanically, and just as importantly feed great in my 1911's as they retain the same shape as ball, smoothly. The Remy's however seem more elongated, and the pre-cuts on the HP are very sharp and stick out beyond the shape of the bullet, catching on anything it can and causing intermittant FTF's even on my highly polished feed ramps. (I shot 200 of them this afternoon btw...it'll be WWB JHp's from now on.)

I dunno if Blazer brass has a 'standard' JHP to compare.

if were talking 9mm winchester white box and blazer brass are about even.

Blazer brass has better bullets. in 40sw I would choose blazer brass hands down its cleaner than winchester and in my area you can get blazer brass for $8 a box of 50 or 100 for $16 vs 100 wwb for $15. accuracy and consistency of wwb in 9mm and 40sw has been dissapointing at times more so in 40.

umc is dirty dont care for it in 9mm seems to be loaded little light get some failures to extract/cycle the slide every so often. outside of being dirty accuracy is acceptable.

if you want good stuff try Blackhills. pricey but quality stuff.

I actually really like the new Remington Green box. The WWB seems expensive to me, and they don't do well in some pistols, like CZ's. I use the Remington Green Box of 9mm JHP in my Browning Hi-Power and never had a problem.

I really like the Green box 125gr .38 Special +P.

Not too hot and expands nicely in water jugs. I'd really like to find some performance figures in gelatin out of a snubbie for it but I haven't found any as of yet.

geojap, I have never had a problem shooting WWB in my CZ75B. In fact, the majority of ammo that has been through that weapons has been WWB.
he WinClean stuff is really nice, but isn't always around.

I've tried Blazer Brass and Remington Green Box. I prefer WWB as it is cheaper and reliable in my weapons.
