Bob Munden video clip

I saw him once at a gun show in Nashville, Tn.. I spoke with the Mrs. for a while. They're real people and seem to enjoy doing the shows and meeting fans. I'll just say this...he is FAST! The video is good...but...he seems even faster in person. You really think there is something wrong with your eyes!To top things off, those guns are standard weight. Nothing light weight about them. Oh yea...Bob is just barely faster than Becky!
I hope we don't hear of any THR guys trying his tricks. There have been lots of people to put bullets through a leg/foot/knee. Use blanks...keep it fun! not hazardous. :D
Mark.

The double balloon is awesome, but simple in the technique.

He draws it cocked, drops the hammer on the first balloon, and then holding the trigger down, flips back the hammer for the second shot as soon as the first shot goes off.

Good Ol' Bob

Mr. Munden is, as Louis La'Mour would say, "Hell come a'runnin' with a sixgun. I used to love watching him do the Shot of the Week on American Shooter sometimes. Is that show on anymore? Jim Scoutten was a great host, and I always wished I could fondle some of the shootin' irons he got to put through their paces on that show.

Always love rewatching that clip, amazing skill and a nice fellow... any truth to his "ideal body" statements though?

I've seen the Mundens do their show at the Powder Creek Shooting Sports festival in KC a couple times. Great people! Bob is amazing. Anybody notice the 'skid plate' on the bottom of the holster? It's to keep him from taking a round in the leg/foot if he misfires. You know, he does custom sixgun work. Prices are pretty reasonable IIRC, and you know he knows sixguns!

(Actually having now watched the SciFi video, he doesn't have the skidplate on that holster rig. He DID though at the Powder Creek shows I have seen in person.)

Bob Munden

A quick comment about the two balloon shot being "easy in theory"
Consider this: To develope his speed draw Bob shot 4,500 rounds every four days for eight years.....I know, I'm his first cousin.........Onward

On his website it says he shot at the bianchi cup with his sa and finished in the top ten I believe. This was in 95 or 96 if I remember right.

Jim now has a new show--Shooting USA--and Bob occasionally makes an appearance.

...and ShootingUSA is on tomorrow evening, (Wednesday), along with a block of all the other shooting/gun/personal defense shows.

From an email from Jim Scouten:

Big Changes This Week!

200 yd shot with a snubby .38

I remember that one!

I can't remember the name of his video, but if anyone gets a chance to watch the whole thing, man oh man, get ready to watch some blurs. I'd just like to see him in person.

Cool thing about Bob is his humility. I mean you know he going to make the shot, but he's always got this "well, let's see if I can pull this off" attitude.

On a slight side note, is Bob Munden ok? I saw a recent Shooting USA and Bob looked quite different, thinner with a slightly rougher voice. Has he been sick, or is it just age creeping up on him? Still shot well though.

I was lucky enough to get to check out some of his handiwork at a show here in Portland several years ago. The man's action jobs are just flat silky smooth.

AH, hello - allow me to introduce myself. I am a dumb shxx, possibly the dumbest guy in the world. After meeting Bob back in the early 80's, and watching his UNBELIEVEABLY FREAKIN' FAST SHOOTING show, he then did a fantastic action job on my Interarms Virginian Dragoon, .44 Magnum. AND THEN LATER I SOLD IT!!! aaaaaaaauuuuuuuugggggggghhhhhhhh!!! :banghead::banghead::banghead:
