Bond Arms Stinger: Thoughts?

Reference the "ouch" with the Bond Arms 9mm, I have a Bond Arms Undercover 9mm. I definitely don't like shooting fully loaded 9mm out of mine, but I do load my own and they shoot just fine, though I get a lot of FTE with that same load in my pistol, so those rounds are specifically for the derringer. Fun gun to shoot.
The first times I shot my Roughneck in 9 mm it felt like heavy recoil, although I’ve adjusted. However, I haven’t shot any +p out of it to my memory. .357 out of my other barrel is too much.

Given it's a smaller caliber, I would be down for a .32 Mag derringer, but only if it was a 4 barrel type pepperbox. Years back a company was going to make something like that and I guess could never make it work or make a profit selling it at $300. It'd be a thick derringer, but still thinner than the cylinder on a revolver.

Bond is one of the few companies I could see making such a gun, just it would cost $500 because it's Bond.
Iver Johnson is coming out with a pepper box derringer, the Pocket Ace.

That's been 'announced' for several years but yet to hit the market. You can find Shot Show videos each year for a bit. Buds has had it on their site as 'out of stock' for several years.

Bought one in 9mm shot it once 15 rounds sold it and took a big $$ loss. The recoil was ridiculous. I don’t consider myself recoil sensitive. I have many handguns of many large calibers that thing is just painful. Still it was well made.
A Bond Arms standard derringer, or stinger?

I have the .380 Stinger. I also have 9mm barrels for my Texas Defender and my Roughnecks. Based on the felt recoil from those I absolutely believe the 9mm Stinger would be genuinely painful.

I mean, you brought up carrying it in your opening post.
I can't think of any use I would have for one of them but you do you Boo
Not sure what motivates people to be condescending on here.
I'm not sure either. I would love to see a flow chart of the thought process that leads some people to the conclusion that their opinion should be universally accepted as fact and that their way is what's best or everybody.
It seems to be his deal. I should be picking up my Roughneck in 9mm today.
My first Roughneck was 9mm. I also have had for years a 3" 9mm barrel for a Defender. Shooting 9mm in the all steel Bond does not approach being unpleasant.

I sort of hope they don't. I'll save several hundred dollars.

It's just money :) Yes, I am a BAD influence.

For me, the 38 just makes so much more sense. Can use a wadcutter in it so I don't need to worry about expansion as well as snake shot shells. Yes, could load those into a 9mm but not common and not something I am doing normally.

I know 9mm is the king of the hill now so get them doing that first.

.38 is about right out of my Roughneck. Yes to wadcutters.

Out of the short barrels such as 2.5 inch the 9 mm might be the most practical for self-defense. Due to high pressure and no cycling/cylinder gap, apparently it still does pretty well out of the short barrels, while still having manageable recoil. In contrast, the .357 for example out of my 3 inch barrel is brutal with recoil, and tests show the .38 special going pretty slow such as in the 600-700 FPS range. I assume that the recoil issue is similar for the more powerful big bore calibers with the 2.5 or 3 inch barrels.

Here is a test with 9mm Roughneck:

I would be very surprised if we don't see .22 LR and/or .22 WMR barrels in the future.
.32 ACP, .327 Federal, and .30 Super Carry are reasonable chamberings as well.
I want a .32 ACP one, but in the quality of BA but not all steel. Stinger style, and maybe smaller. .22 or .22 WMR too. As you know, they stopped making the full sized BA .22 LR derringers, which is why I'm still waiting for you to sell me yours. ;)
