I was given a Hogue Monogrip® for my Ruger SP101. For my small hands the grip is a marvel - small perimeter, side swells at my "sweet spot," finger grooves where my fingers need them to be, et al.
If the grip were available with pinky finger groove omitted and bottom of grip subtly configured like "J" frame boot grip or Ruger LCR OEM [Hogue] grip, it would be ideal for my use.
Okay, to the questions.
- Is Hogue going to make, or announced plans to make such an SP102 boot grip?
- Does anyone alter Hogue Monogrip to such a boot grip configuration - regardless how cheesy the job looks?
- Does any manufacturer offer such a boot grip, paying particular attention to Monogrip's small perimeter? I have handled SP101 boot grip that was acceptable, save the grip's much too large perimeter. I think it might have been a Pachmayr ?
- Excepting their lack of recoil mitigation, a wood or other soild material rendered as such a boot grip would be satisfactory. But I am unsure of the amount of comfort I have shooting with the Monogrip is the result of its ability to soften my perception of recoil. Probably a single-piece solid grip with a rubber palm insert would probably soften sufficiently.
