I bought a closeout-special 2" M10-11, made in 1/03 according to S&W, in 9/03. It's trigger broke-in quite well with my standard clean/lube, dry-fire, repeat procedure. Blue job is second only to my beautiful Heritage 24. I ordered a set of S&W Accessories' 'Export Service' wood boot grips to replace the excellent UM's backstrap-enclosing combat grips it came with. For $320 or so total, I now have an 'M&P' snubby six shooter, albeit a tad bigger/heavier than a Colt DS. The newer 10's, according to my call to S&W (Always call them with your SN first... 800#.), are all +P rated. Besides, how much more utilitarian can one get than a K-frame S&W? Standard parts... loads of good 'smiths... free factory service...
I shock folks at the range with that snubby by pinging the steel rifle plates at 110yd, admittedly, after some practice. It is kept loaded with the old 'FBI load', the Remington R38S12 158gr LHPSWC +P's, for PD, as is the 3" 65 on my wife's side of the bed. I cannot reccomend that 2" 10 highly enough...
