😁
Oh, here's the other Enfield-

1968 Ishapore 2A in 7.62 NATO.

One of the cleanest Ishys I've seen in a long time. The Indian guns are often rode hard and put up wet, the 2As especially.

I actually looked hard at this gun at the last show but I couldn't get back the next day to snag it. Got lucky he still had it this time around. 😊

Happy Veterans' Day! Thanks to all who served.🇺🇸

That truly is a nice looking one. Back in the 90’s I searched every gun show for a 7.62 Ishapore Enfield. When I found them they were either really nasty or really nice (and really expensive. At least for my budget.
I was at a gun show yesterday and saw one that I honestly thought was one of those weird crappy China made toys made to look like an old beat up rifle. I mean, this thing looked bad. The guy behind the table said “I’ll take a thousand for that.”
I smiled and said “I’ll bet you would…from someone else.”
I gave up my search for one years ago. I do not want one now but I love it when others have one and in nice shape like that one.
Please let us know how she shoots.

Another fella at that same show last month had a rather rough example missing the magazine for $350 and I almost bit anyway. Glad I held out for this one. The big one cost me $650 OTD. The little one was $10 and he threw in the teeny tiny bayonet and 1911. 😁

I actually had another .308 Ishy years ago, but someone had "tankered" it. Everything forward of the lower band went flying downrange the first time I shot it. RSOs hit the buzzer, everyone staring at me- fun!

Even after I fixed the stock, it would keyhole badly so God only knows how bad that crown was. 😠

Ironically, none are in .303. At the top is the 2A1, below that a 1918 Ishapore .410 musket, and the bottom gun is a 1912 BSA .22LR.

One thing I just noticed, having them all together- neither of the Indian guns has a stacking swivel like the Brit-

But whereas the '68 omits it entirely from the upper band-

The older Ishy has a lug there, its just not drilled through for a hook-

Gotta love the rabbit hole that is Enfield collecting!
