I'm looking to hook my Marlin 925 up with a Boyds At-One stock. Problem is, the rimfire league I shoot in caps the weight of the rifle at a strict 7.5 lbs, optics included. My rifle sans current stock weighs in at exactly 4lbs 7.5oz. The Boyds website lists the rifle as weighing "approximately 3 lbs". I'm trying to figure out whether the stocks typically run over or under 3lbs.

I've asked Boyds about this, but they were not very helpful, saying that it was going to vary (I know that!) So I'm trying to get together some real-world data here. If you have one, what does your At-One stock weigh?

Any info would be appreciated!

It's a laminate stock, if it ends up over weight by a few ounces, you won't have any problem drilling out mass in concealed parts of the stock to make weight.

Personally, the stock's under $200, and there's plenty of meat which can be removed under the barrel channel, under the grip module, at the rear of the buttstock... I'd take the chance on an easy bet I could keep it under 7.5lbs.

Having owned Boyds stocks, Boyds actually already removes material in all of the "usual places", so that's not super helpful. Here's a picture of the under-barrel channel on an At-One s-l1600.jpg
