I recently purchased a Boyds Thumbhole Patriot stock for my 77/22 in 22WMR. Boyds said it was a drop in but its far from a drop in. Here is my conundrum; The lacquer they used to finish it dripped down into the bottom of the stock where the mag and trigger wells are and they wont mate up. Should I 1) take it to a gunsmith and have it worked up, (probably what I will wind up doing) 2) buy a dremmel and sand it out (havent done any wood working since I built my parents house in '02), or 3) get a different stock?
Your advise would be greatly appreciated.

I'd ask Boyds to swap it out. I've never had issues like that with a Boyd stock.
