Brass shavings when expanding ?

I have never purchased new brass. Too cheap I guess I am. I have purchased new factory ammo and used the brass from it. Never experienced shaved brass. So I am a shaved brass newbie here.

I thought this is what sizing die wax was for, you just put a little on the expander ball after cleaning the die, and it will run several hundred rounds, flairs, then rinse and repeat.

“Sizing die wax”? Are you referring to case lube for resizing using a steel die?

But I deburr/chamfer all revolver brass.

Me too. It gets rid of burrs and other extraneous pieces if brass around the case mouth.

I use RCBS case lube, but for expanding I always put some of this on the expander after I clean it, just cause.

I put case lube on the expander too. It makes things run smoother.

What cartrdige? Do you have a pic of the cases showing how much you flared them?
