Anyone know where to get breech plugs for the numrich hopkins and Allen underhammers are the threads standard size of if there is one that can be made to fit. One other thing where there different action sizes mine seams bigger then most, some have flat side and the front is cut to match a octagon barrel. Mine has a round smooth bore barrel so I wonder if there's a diffrence.

My gun came from a friend that worked at numrich for years maybe a rarer type?.
Also a recommended barrel size and maker is helpfull. I like green mountains stuff. I'm looking either a 32/36 caliber of maybe a 45. Thanks.

They don’t show them in the online catalog, but Deer Creek always has some H&A undrrhammer style stuff in their booth at Friendship. You might find something there.

Here's the action, I striped it down for a light cleaning. Trigger pull is 2.5 pounds and dry crisp. From what I was told this being a 15ga means it was most likely a kit but the bluing and wood looks factory. My friend that worked at numrich can't remember where he got this, but good me about the large room with the machines making these when he was there.

Odd that the barrel is not marked or ga/cal. Only numrich arms Hopkins and Allen Hurley n.y. Barrel is 29'' on the inside and 30 to where the action meets up. Bore is .678.

I have several H&A under hammer breech plugs.
Problem is even if they fit your barrel the tapered hole in the plug may not line up with the tapered hole in your action.
You need a breech plug that will fit the barrel threads that has not been drilled for the pin, then you will either have to drill the tapered hole when the barrel is properly fit to the breech plug and indexed to the action or drill out the tapered holes in the action and thread them for set screws
(and add another threaded hole to the top of the action).

I've re barreled several H&A underhammer actions with green mountain barrels.

I always drill and tap the action holes for set screws.

Nice did you make that but stock. And where you get the scope.
I pulled the breech plug last night, it looks easy to make from a bolt,i have a lathe.
The set screw is probably what I will do one day. Any common way to do these.
I'd guess because these guns are light the shorter barrel are better.I would like a 32 or 36 and a 45 barrel, switching them out would be cool.
Thanks for the info.

Thank you
Yes I made the stock.
I got the scope at a gun show and made the scope mounts.
This rifle has a 62 cal. Colerain tapered barrel.

Did you pin the forend, I can't on my round barrel so I will have to sweet on some tabs for pins.

It's pinned to under lugs that are dove tailed to the bottom of the barrel.
I generally attach an under rib to the barrel so I can use under lugs to pin or key the fore end to the barrel.
