Either my P7 broke and I been carrying it around broke, or I tried too hard to get the firing pin bushing out.

So I'm down to my Beretta. Problem is I'm waiting on another IWB concealment holster as my OWB carries it waaaay too far out and doesn't cant back enough for my somali butt to hide it.

Too bad I didn't buy a spare P7M8 :banghead:

What have you guys broken on your P7s? Where do I get parts? Help!

Broke my P7M10 several years back. Bought one of the first to come into the country. Dressed it in Rosen leather. Spent 6 or 7 hundred bucks in mags, and like you carried it broke for 6 months. I'm an LEO, and it was my off duty weapon. I was not a happy guy.Sent it to Sterling and it was the firing pin spring. Gunsmith who talked to H&K said it was the first malfunction of that type they'd seen in 15 years. Sad to say I never trusted the weapon after that, although it never malfunctioned again. It was a one hole shooter, and I traded it and all the goodies for a Wilson Tactical Elite. Which is what I carry when I'm not carrying their SDS.

I wanted the Elite I but they're discontinued :(

I was planning on dumping the P7 when the P2000 comes around but may just go 1911...again

Easier to get and get parts for.

Holler at WildAlaska. Have him send you a spare gun along with the parts you need. Had that 'blowout" ya know. :D
[your welcome WildAlaska]

El Tejon, reduncency is good...all the mags, holsters, ammo, etc, interchange too. ( danged ole 1911 styles...):)

Skunk, get you 2 Mil-Specs, run'em in the mud the blood and beer, trigger at 4#, skateboard tape and BA/UU/R...

re wildalaska, I don't like the P7 PSP heel mag releases but the CA DOJ made that decision for me already. Alpha mike foxtrot, Gray Davis (adios my friend)

re1973, I got all choked up and threw down my gun, I called him paw and he called me son... RIP :(

Gee Skunk,
Us Southern folks just use stuff as part of everyday language, I didn't even associate the "Sue" reference. You gotta get out of Kali, go to TN, see Nashville , no dumb gun laws...heck before long you'll know what "saucered and blowed" means ....
Be walking and talking - writing songs Like David Allan Coe, and Jerry Jeff Walker...totin' two Mil-Specs and driving pickemuptrucks :)

Sounds like bad mojo Skunkabilly! Hopefully you'll be able to find a new firing pin relatively quickly & inexpensively ;)

Right now I'm using my metrotactical Wilderness Safepacker. It's sized for a Colt Commander

Just ordered an IWB (in carbon fiber) for my 92G with carbon fiber grips.

I would just Mexican carry the Beretta 92 strong side IWB. Make sure you tighten the belt enough, but the B92, tends not to move around at all.

The firing pin bushing is one of the most common parts to break on a P7M8.

Call HK customer service and complain to them, be insistent because cust. service quality is spotty, even though this is a common call that they get regarding the P7s.

HK should authorize a replacement part if you send in your broken part.

Good luck with your carry gun issues. You must be one of the few in California to have a carry permit.

Are you gonna fix yours or get a new one?

The part broke, so I'm going to have to get a new part. Probably sell it once the Beretta 92G-SD comes around and I test carry my 92G to a wedding or funeral.

# 1 rule with conceal carry: Have a spare gun thats the same as all guns will break eventually.

HK never did call back re: the replacement firing pin safety spring for my roomie's P7. Good thing my 'smith could wind one himself.

(Also good thing that my roomie has several good CCW guns and leather for all of them. ;) )

Skunk, why are you going to give up on the P7 after one relatively common parts breakage? Every gun make can break and every gun has weak points. Or, were you just looking for an excuse to get away from it and either return to 1911s or go back to carrying your beloved Berettas?

Anyway, since you have a nice holster on order for your Beretta you just need a stop gap while waiting on the new holster and/or your P7 gets fixed (or both). Seems to me the Unkle Mike's IWB would be perfect. You can probably get it for about $10. It has a velcro retention strap so even though it isn't all that good your gun still won't end up on the floor. It isn't ideal, but it should work fine for a short term stop gap and back up plan.

Giving up on the P7 because of the dinky slide stop (too difficult to clear Class 3 malfunctions under stress) which is my main complaint. That, and I shoot my Beretta better and can conceal it just as well.

I've broken a few Beretta parts--grip screws mostly.

I've talked to someone that was actually involved in 3 self-defense (owns a check cashing establishment) shootings. When you gun fails during a SHTF scenario, you just do not have time to do a malfunction drill. Either run or get out another gun.

Ponder on this, on one scenario, the DA want to indict the business owner with manslaughter becuase he shot the robber twice with a 12 gauge (excessive force). That cost him 50k.
