Finally a chance to shoot the CMMG 22lr conversion kit for the AR-15 this weekend! My father was visiting from Ohio and we always head out to the range. On Sat with a few rifles and pistols we arrived at Ben Avery Shooting Facility to have some fun.
I ordered my kit from Brownell's a couple months ago. The Kit included the smoke-colored 26-round BD magazine and I picked up one spare magazine. Installation was was a drop-in affair and we had it installed in seconds. I was elated when I first fired, the bullet impacted exactly where the sights were zeroed! 20+ more quick taps of the trigger and I was hooked!
We experienced only had one jam in over 200rnds shooting Federal Bulk Ammo. We had no other problems with it in the DPMS AR-15. Accuracy was superb from the 1-9" bbl. There was no recoil. At close range shooting at Shoot-N-C's one could watch each bullet impact and could hear the smack of the bullet hitting the target. Trigger time just got a lot cheaper! I haven't been this excited about shooting 22lr in a long time.
I swapped my bolt and carrier back in and finished up buy shooting 100rnds of 223 through it without any issues.
