Awesome! Never heard of this pistol before, I may just want one now! If it'll fit in my big paws that is.....

Nice.
Between this, the Sig 232 series and the G42 Glock, it now appears we may have three Small guns that actually work well in .380 caliber,,,,

Advertising says the gun is scaled to 85% of the original 1911
My Browning 1911-22 is scaled to 80% or the original 1911 design if that gives one some perspective.
It will be a bit shorter and much thinner than the Browning BDA.

Reminds me of the Colt Govt. Model in 380
It should.
That's exactly what it is.

Both the Browning 1911-22, and the 1911-380 are exactly the same size.

A 1911 scaled down to 85% size.
(Both are exactly the same size guns.)

I wonder...could a 9x18 mm conversion barrel be in the works?
For certain, not from Browning.

The Colt Government Model was a soft shooting gun that was fun to shoot. I personally couldn't shoot it that accurately, it wasn't a tac driver, but I could punch a lot of holes in the 9 ring with an occasional bullseye.

I think I need one of these. Regarding the comment about guns that actually work in .380, I was under the impression that the Beretta 84/85, CZ 83 and Makarov in .380 work just fine. I own the last two and think they are excellent. What did you mean?

You can forget about trying to convert it to 9mm.
Period.

I did say SMALL gun!
Beretta and CZ83 are every bit as big as my G26 Glock.
Makarov is a bit smaller and thinner but I wasn't impressed by the .380 versions which are really a moot point anyway considering they are unobtanium except on the used gun market.

It whets my appetite here in California whilst I await delivery of my P232.

What would be the cost of that Browning?

Wonder if it will be available in California?

be safe

I may consider one as a replacement for my colt .380 government. I love the little colt but is definitely an up close gun as accuracy stinks past 5 yards. I still carry it but feel like it's a poor compromise and am starting to carry a Dan Wesson ECO 9 as soon as I get a good holster for it. The browning would be a nice summer carry gun if it works well and has decent sights.

How refreshing to read many positive comments on a new firearm, on other forums the "doom and gloom" boys who would never buy this pistol anyway are trying to bury it already. It is nice to see new products at a time when the firearms market is stuffed with just about anything you might want to own. I may not give up my Sig P238 or P938 for this pistol but it intrigues me and I would love to Fire one.

I'm interested in the new pistol. I have a Llamma IIIA in .380 which is a micro 1911 and it's a fun little pistol.

Cute little gun...

Not sure it's $700 after taxes cute, but cute non the less.

I find myself wandering a show or the aisles of a store with enough to buy one at listed MSRP, and I'm likely to find something or a couple somethings that I want more.

I have a Llama IIIa in .380 also, and it is a neat little pistol. Mine is the blowback version, and I would like to get the older locked breech version at some point.

I am curious as to the price of this new Browning .380, as the .22LR version is pretty expensive for a .22 plinker.

Browning doesn't make anything & there's no point in entering an already over-saturated market with an on-going contract 1911.

For what it's worth, they list the Buck Mark pistol and rifle as US made as well as the 1911 - .22.

On their "Limited Distribution" side they still have the Pro-9 & 40.

All of those Bucks & 1911 .22s are built by ATI in Salt Lake City for Browning, same people doing the .380.
About 35 miles from where I live.

Browning contracts with various makers for their products, to Browning specs & QC standards.
