I'd almost swear that I have seen in a magazine an article or picture of a Browning 1911 in .22 magnum. I know they make one in .22 L.R. I've done a google search and looked on Browning's website but found nothing. So was it a misprint or did I mis-remember? Thanks.

You guys have to stop coming up with all these guns that I would like to have because I can't afford them all. I'd never heard of a .22 magnum 1911 but have been considering one in .22lr and now I have to add this new one to the list of guns that I'd really like. I'm trying to figure out what gun I want for Christmas and was already having a hard time. It's a lot of work lol.

I bought the wife a browning black label 22 lr 2-3 years ago...... what a fun little gun.... after a couple weeks she said hey "do you mind if i try your colt acp officers model 45" as she said her browning seems alot like my colt.............. hum really, long story short, this little browning got her bank into shooting a bunch of my guns..... I find myself going on hikes with it or one of my ruger single sixs in 22 mag.... so if they are really making the 1911 in 22 mag ..... YOU BET I WANT ONE..... This would combine two of my favourite hiking guns, and i would have the best of both worlds...

Rock Island Armory does make a .22 magnum 1911. And I could get the Heritage revolver .22lr/.22 mag. I just thought I had seen an ad for a Browning .22 mag 1911. I don't have a desire to own a RIA like I do a Browning. I already have a S&W Airweight revolver, and a Ruger MK-III .22/.45, and a broken old Lorcin in .22lr.

Due to the length of .22 magnum, they likely wouldn't be able to fit it in the existing scaled down version, which is the key selling point.

The RIA is all steel, in fact it's 4140. There is no better gun making material IMO, certainly not aluminum alloy or Zamak.
