I picked up a handful of these at the range the other day. The odd color caught my eye. At first I could not make out the headstamp. It looked almost Arabic to me. Not until I got home did I realize that it was a Buckmark stamp that I was looking at.

So anyway, I find myself wondering what the coating is that they are using. It is not a big deal to me, I am just curious. I assume that it is plain brass underneath. A quick Google search turned up an article about this new Browning ammo line hitting shelves earlier this year, but didn't mention much else.

Any ideas? Or other comments?

I have an aluminum, steel, and a brass case pictured for color comparison.

Saw some at Cabelas but took a pass on it. Price wasn't too bad, but found a better price on S&B ammo which I like quite a bit.

Rumor on other forums is that it's re-branded Winchester.

I've seen it for sale online but haven't heard anything about it.

I'm kind of curious as to how its made. Maybe try scraping away that (lacquer?) coating? Does it attract a magnet?

Yeah I've seen this at the 'ol Cabelas out yonder ways. Ain't seen none local, though.

Browning ammo... now who'd a thunk it?

makes sorting easier for eventual reloading....... not a bad idea actually from a reloader's perspective.

Browning had a huge section at the NRA 2016 AM Expo devoted to their new ammo. I have a drink koozie from them.

Was at a cartridge collector show and got all excited about a .40S&W round with an Arabic headstamp. Just a little turn of the case and.......awwwwwwwwww.

A few months ago I picked up some brass ( gun club) , got it all cleaned and was sorting the .38 spec. from the .357. Noticed one odd ball .38 case...with a Browning head stamp. Only one in the whole bunch.
