Are you able to shoot right handed and aim with your left eye using the iron sights. This is a silly question, but I am right handed and can not use my right eye to aim. I am thinking about buying one but can not find one to hold and aim with to determine if this can be done like I can with my Henry Golden Boy. So, do any of you have one that can tell me if this can be done? Also, how do you like the gun? Is it reliable and accurate?

Lloyd,
Any reason you can't just switch hands? It's harder to shoot WELL when using the off eye, because it doesn't line up with the bore.

I know what you are saying. I am just anal about shooting left handed, I have tried it but just can't get comfortable. Maybe it's just old habits die hard. I have a Henry Golden Boy in 22magnum that I shoot right handed and so far have been able to shoot very accurately. I just really rather shoot right handed.

I have four kids, all right-handed, but 3 are left eye master like you.

I don't know enough about genetics, but my wife and I are both right-handed, and right eye master.

I taught all the three left eye master kids to shoot left-handed, and they have done really well.

A Browning 22 lever action would be no different than any other rifle - the hard part is moving your head to have your left eye properly align with the sight.

I don't know how old you are or how long you have been shooting, but you have basically two options. Start shooting left handed, or purposefully close your left eye when aiming.

He might not be able to see anything if he closes his left eye. I have one of the brownings but if I couldn't use my right eye I'd switch sholders.

You are correct, my left eye does all the work. As I stated in my original post, I can not use my right eye to aim. If you have time, could you take your BL22 and see if you can position your left eye to see straight down the sights right handed ? I can not find one in a local store to try it for myself.

I thought the wording in your post along with your "safety first" user name went along with an unusable eye.

I just tried right shoulder and left eye with the browning, could not even get close to being able to use it.

Thanks for taking time to do that. Now I know it will not work like the Henry Golden Boy 22. I like Browning guns and was hoping it would work but I will just stick with the Henry to serve the purpose. Again, thanks for being willing to help.
