Browning bolt action for a P-Dog gun

The only reason I'd even think of getting a browning is the 60 degree bolt unlock. Not that Browning is bad or anything, just that I don't know anything about their rifles and I'm more of a Rem fan. I think the 60 deg. bolt would be handy for shooting while sitting or prone and for faster reloads. I realize the actual time saved isn't enough to bother for all practical applications, but I still think it's a good concept. Besides, I have to beat my buddy and his AR, right? So, anyhow, does anyone have some info on the Browning A and X bolts they'd like to share? Both positive and negative info is needed for a good analysis.

Edit: Also, I checked their website and apparently, only left hand models are available in .223. Is this true or is the website incorrect?

Don't think they're going to beat the AR on rate of fire. Might shoot closer to to minute of PD way out though. Savage and CZ are the only companies (I think, not a lefty) that offer a decent selection in LH models. A 223 might be great, if it had the right twist. So what's the twist?

I've got single shot adapters in all my varmint rifles, and don't worry about a quick second shot. If I'm ever charged by a wounded and enraged bull prairie dog I might change my mind though. I'm also left handed and shoot right handed rifles off a bipod which is actually very handy.

Yeah I hope you're talking about beating the AR in regards to rate of fire. Because I hope his AR isn't outshooting your Remington 700!

What about a single shot rifle such as a Ruger #1?

EDIT: Either that or Ruger makes a left-handed model of the M77 Mkii Varmint gun (I'm pretty sure; I, too, am not a lefty)

I guess I was a little confusing: I am wanting a bolt gun that is right handed in 223 with probably a 1-9 twist. The browning website didn't show right handed rifles in 223, only the lefties. Also, I am out shooting my buddy with my savage 12 LRPV (single shot, extractor doesn't work right) but there' nothing like a little edge on the competition. I like the single shot and all, but I'm ready for an internal mag.

That is in the lineup, was thinking a model 1 for 09 but it'll probably be my '10 Pdog gun.

I'm not trying to out shoot an AR as far as rate of fire goes, just my friend shooting his . What I really want is someone's perspective on the browning line of bolt guns.

P.S. I am not left handed and don't want a left handed gun .

Speaking of single shot rifles, Browning and Winchester both make a low wall in .223. I have one in 22 hornet. It's a great rifle, and looks good too.

Browning rifles are top shelf stuff in my opinion at least. Fit and finish are noticibly nicer than any winchester or remington I've handled(quite a few). I love mine for its accuracy, aesthetics, reliability, and Overall feeling. You won't be disapointed. With that said, i dont think Browning makes any 1in9 twist rifles in 223, but dont quote me on it. After thinking, I've decided this rifle will have a nice wood stock, preferably a 20" barrel chambered in 223 with a nice gloss blue, and the weight should be as low as possible. I get the feeling I'll end up with a Rem model 7, possibly even a Kimber or Cooper, but I'd like to give Browning a try.

What weight .223 bullet will a 1-12 twist stabilize, 55gr maximum?
