nothing at all wrong with optics on a Buckmark, but do not assume up front that you need them to shoot steel at 75 yards
"baseball size" stuff at 75+ yards is not hard to hit with a Buckmark or Ruger MK, or "golf ball size stuff" at 30-40 yards, try before you buy
if doing a scope, suggest keep it low power ~2x... pretty hard to miss a soda pop can at 100 yards with a 2x scope
I run a 2X handgun scope on a Ruger 10" MkII bull barrel (up to 100 yards)
and a Millet SP1 3 MOA 1" tube red dot on a Ruger MkII 6 7/8" barrel (up to 50 yards, after which the dot covers a bit too much)
but open irons only on k-frame and j-frame 22s
and any of them will easily do that sort of accuracy, as will any typical Buckmark
whoops.. he said FEET, not yards
"75 feet away to shoot"... 25 yards.. good distance for hard foam practice golf balls, strung on spiderwire as swingers
(really, give a try with open sights 1st)
and a 3 MOA red dot is a good choice vs a scope at that distance as well, will give a ~3/4" dot picture at 25 yards, easy to center on & shoot 1" shoot-n-cee dots with, and fun to shoot those golf ball swingers on the swing with, and no ricochet factor like with steel
