Hi all-

I have a Browning Silver that I bought new in 2010, and it has the Dura-Touch coating in Mossy Oak Duck Blind. The shotgun has been flawless through 5 duck and turkey seasons, and I have been nothing but pleased with its performance.

I have mostly liked the Dura-Touch and the way it handles in the field. It has yellowed where my hands grip the stock and forearm, but has otherwise held up well. However, this weekend I was hunting in an all-day rain and the finished turned opaque and sticky. Once it dried the color came back, but the stickiness somewhat remained.

I've become concerned about the long-term durability of this coating, and am thinking of having the Dura-Touch removed and the stock and forearm re-dipped while companies still carry the Duck Blind finish. I realize I could return it to Browning, but I see no reason why my problems wouldn't return in a few years.

My question is...has anyone had the Dura-Touch removed and their gun re-dipped, or seen this on someone else's gun? Does the stock and forearm feel just like any other synthetic gun at that point? And where you pleased with the change?

Thanks, in advance, for any help!
