+! to looking for a FN model, not a browning. They are not as shiny, but everything else is the same. Save yourself $200+

If you mean "not as shiny" is the matte finish, then understand that both FN and FN/Browning Hi Powers are/were available in matte and polished blue.

Great guns, have cash in hand and be patient. I scored a MKIII at sports authority for $480 brand new 2 years ago when they had a 20% off sale on their handguns.

Deals can be found. Nice to see another USAF guy. I'm over in Iraq right now and you're right, some do carry the BHP, and for good reason.

BHP

Short of removing the magazine safety, I lightened it by cutting some coils. It did lighten the trigger pull. I also polished the safety face and the magazines where the safety rubs.

Like others have said get the FN/BHP. Good ones can be found used at reasonable prices. I have a MK III Silver Chrome model and its my most accurate centerfire handgun. Its box stock too, with a nice crisp trigger.
