I bought a Browning Camper at Gander Mtn tonight - good price. But almost tossed the sale when clerk told me Browning had no written warranty. I asked about Ruger's warranty, my second choice, and was told they also have no written warranty, nor does Glock. Salesman mentioned something about reason being avoiding repair from gun accidents, which were not really caused by the gun but by operator error. Something like that.... didn't really understand it.
When I heard Glock also did not officially have a written warranty either, I went ahead with sale. From my own experience with Glock and many others I know of, Glock seems to care less about anything - even how many owners a gun may have had - and just fixes them by routinely replacing 3/4's of the parts, and sometimes even sending a new gun. So much for "no written warranties". So, hoping Browning would do the same with an obvious problem, and with Gander's promoting their own $39 year Warranty as something I might possibly get - I went ahead with the sale.
Now, does anyone have any experience with Browning and they're reaction to notice a gun of yours had problems? Would help me decide if I could trust they'd be there for actual problems and make clearer to me the choice of buying Gander's own warranty.
Thanks
