Im puttin this up for Mike since he is computer impaired at the moment..but this is his thread....let me tell ya boys..Ive never had a revolver in my hand like this one...We are doing the video this week but I thought yall over here would like a peek as well...This is the real deal gun porn right here!....enjoy! Thanks Mike!!
Brushy sent me his '51 Navy and it needed a few things so I :
Installed-
-Frame/barrel studs ( after lapping the frame and barrel assy together)
-bolt block
-hammer stop
-arbor set screw
-cap rake (pin to block spent caps from falling into the action)
-hammer stud to remove slop which also gives a consistent sight pic.
-metal spacers for the combo spring and main spring which makes them adjustable and will maintain integrity unlike leather, rubber etc.
-resurfaced recoil shield bearing surface to remove play
-isolated the arbor to eliminate vibration
-Repaired:
-wedge screw and cut the head for easy wedge removal
-reworked hammer cam and hardened hammer
-fixed all screw heads, hardened, polished and fire blued
-reworked bolt head to eliminate damage to the locking notches, as well as lightening the bolt significantly
Before After
Hammer pull 4+ lbs 4 lbs
Trigger pull 2+ lbs (lots of creep) 2 lbs (no creep)
Barrel/ Cyl Gap .008 .003
What Brushy should see:
Pretty brass and pretty screws
What Brushy should feel:
easy, smooth action with a no creep 2 lb trigger. Solid stop of the action cycle when full cock is reached. Should feel big diff the bolt block makes when cycling fast/ fanning !
It's definitely a Different Animal
Here are some pics. (hope it shoots good !!)
I made up the goon gunworks logo...thats not really him...hes very ugly!
contact "The Goon" (.45dragoon) He does amazing work!
