oldfool, it seems to me panties get in a wad because of ignorant people spouting misinformation, not because people equate glocks to god.

like them or not, glocks are not "just for experts".

the shop guy lost a sale for being ignorant and arrogant. hopefully the woman went somewhere else and bought what SHE wanted.

i have a glock 22 in 40 s&w and like to shoot it,but i do not carry it with a shell in the chamber and the trigger pull is a hellve a lot lighter than a double action revolver, that being said i wish the glock had a small flip on safety like the browning high power, that you could use if you wanted to. eastbank.

I've been wondering for a long while what it is about the gun culture that results in so many people like that gun store clerk. It's a lot like religion, where people are sure that their answer is the right one, to the point that everyone who doesn't agree is a heretic. Likewise, the community is full of "corner preachers" that are sure they know "the way" but really don't have much of a clue and are full of incorrect cliche's, wives tales, and quotes taken out of context. Another parallel is that there are so many of us who are so fanatical that they hurt the cause by turning off new shooters.

I've also noticed that gun store service seems to be deteriorating steadily. I have a feeling that, because of the bumper crop of new shooters and high demand in the last three years, they can get away with treating customers poorly and gat away with it. When the "gun bubble" pops, those shops will be the first to close.

If you're mentally developed enough keep from urinating on yourself you can carry a glock.

All that's required in both cases is not pulling the trigger till the unit clears its holster.

I wouldn't carry one in the pipe of my glock either if all I had was a $4 universal fit uncle mikes holster.

Like others mention the primary safety is between the ears. THE MANUAL SAFETY is a quality fitted to the gun holster that covers the trigger guard completely.

I'm confused as we say that a Glock is unsafe because it doesn't have a manual safety, but then push a revolver. Did Ruger add a safety to the SP101 that I'm not aware of?

I like Glocks, and think hat they are great for a beginner, but if the lady in question is like my girlfriend, if she wants a revolver, nobody is going to get her to want an automatic, no matter how much they try. And for the people who say Glocks are unsafe: KEEP THE BOOGER HOOK OFF OF THE BANG SWITCH!

Great. We're arguing once more, again, for the millionth time, whether Glocks are safe to carry -- but this time in the Revolvers forum.

The real discussion here was on poor sales technique, and whether another customer should intervene to assist the lady to get what she wanted and help the lousy salesman to make a sale. (Which specific guns were under discussion is completely irrelevant.) But that's a discussion for the General Gun Discussion forum, not here in Revolvers, either.
