I have an opportunity to get a new BSA Silver Eagle 20 Ga O/U shotgun for under $400, which I think is well below "list." I've seen a photo of the model, but haven't been able to find out much about these. I think they are made in Spain, or possibly Turkey (I've read of BSAs being made in both countries). It has a single trigger, ventilated rib, checkered walnut stock, interchangeable chokes, etc. In the photo, it looks nicer than other low-cost O/Us I've seen, but that's not much to go on. I'll have to buy it "site unseen" from a seller in another state, so I won't have the opportunity to examine it before I buy. I would really appreciate any information on this shotgun (or any BSA O/Us). I haven't even been able to find any information from the manufacturer - the web site I found only has BSA optics (same company, I assume).

Thanks

Doug

Nobody has seen one, or knows where I can find information about them? I think this is a record - the first time I've asked about a gun on The High Road (or The Firing Line) without getting any response - I must have picked a real oddball this time.

Truthfully,Doug, I've never heard of a contemporary BSA shotgun. The Birmingham boxlock SxS shotguns they used to make were decent, though lacking the elan of the bespoke makers.

FYI, BSA stands for Birmingham Small Arms.

For $400, I'd say get it and shoot the heck out of it....

I just saw and handled the "Silverhawk" version of this just this morning, and have basically asked the same questions over on ShotgunWorld. It actually looked pretty good for the money ($439) and featured all the ammenities you listed above. Not sure what the difference in models is, but probably finish. Although it said BSA, the company importing them is somewhere in Missouri, so I'm not sure where or how they got the rights to the name.
