HiPoint has slowed production. Most new hi points are around $179. If you can find a 40cal you are lucky.

lets see 100$ This is within 2012, one sks $75, a 1893 Spanish Mauser $40, 1918 lee enfield (sporterized) $60, 1 Stevens 887 10$ one Austrian steyr 100$, a Stevens fully guaranteed single gun in .410 $80 ... Get the idea you just have to look around and be able to haggle.

Lots of good suggestions. $100 is a tiny budget, but I'll echo what's already been said:

A cheap .22 Rifle (you can sometimes find them new on-sale for around this price - used at a pawn shop you can find plenty of them for under $75).

A single-shot shotgun (H&R or Rossi).

A Mosin Nagant rifle.

A Nagant revolver.
(I know you said other than those but they're really good guns for the price - I wouldn't take them off the table)

Just hit up the used racks in general too. If you're really lucky and can deal with it not being a show-piece you MIGHT be able to find an older pump shotgun for that price or just a tad more (I KNOW you could get one for $150). Not too long ago I actually got my Savage 340 (.30-30 bolt action) for $99. No magazine but that didn't cost much to add.

That Mossberg 702 looks more like a Marlin than a 10/22. It looks to be the same receiver as the model 60, and all of the box magazine new ones.

Just look around for used guns in pawn shops, and gun shops; eventually you will find an Iver Johnson or H&R revolver. If you get either of those, just make sure that they lock up tightly and that the cylinder stop actually stops the cylinder and holds it, not just stops its movement in one direction.
