I have thread about one of those....It actually did well enough to impress, tho it was ok optically at best.Could I use this on the compass? It says it comes with 20mm mounts. Would I need anything else or just the scope and mounts? Not too familiar
My cheap scope recommendation are avoid cheap Simmons like the 8point as if they had the plague. They are one of the only lines of scopes I've seen pretty much always fail.
Also stay with relatively common power ranges, 3-9s, 4-12s, 6-18s, and get as few features as you can live with.
Bushnell has the Banners in a few powers, and those are functionally hit or miss with significantly more hits. Optically they are actually quite good when compared to other cheap scope.
The Trophy's are a step up and usually where I start actually recommending most folks begin looking.
Athlons base scopes, the Neos, offer very good optics and reasonably accurate tracking, but I've only had one for about 3 months now so can't say as to longevity.
The Weaver Kaspa are surprisingly good for the cost, tho again I only had one for a relatively short time.
Where I'd honestly be looking for a "cheap" optic, would be Nikon closeouts.
The plain "BDC" baddged scopes are usually around 80-100 bucks, and imo better than the buckmaster2s. After that I'd look at the P5s or something similar.
If your willing to wait, and spend more, than I'd highly recommend waiting for a Burris FF2s or E1 to come on sale.
