Buds gunshop online orders fine print

Looked at my Credit Card and find Buds charges the Credit card at the time an order is placed. Did not know that was legal. Cancelling an order before ship , they still charge 10 % of the total including USPS insurance $6, the Credit card add on of 3%. They call it a restocking fee.

just a note of caution about dealing online. Took me half hour to find the fine print on their help pages. Information , is not included on the checkout pages.

A lot of Dealers charge a restocking fee. I've seen it as high as 25% and that's at local gun shops around here. I dont know if it's the norm or not, it's just something I have ran across a few times.

It might change later. At least for me, I've only ordered once from them (two guns in the order), but it was sort of weird. They charged it when I placed it, and the next day it disappeared off my credit card. Then the next day it reappeared. A few days later I got shipping notifications, even though they had shipped on the day of the second CC charge. Only downside is that that moved up the start date of the waiting period for my guns (this was before I had my CWP. Now I could buy handguns with no wait).

They didn't mess up, but I don't know why they charged my card like that. Oh well, other than some minor communication delay issues, my experience with them was pretty good. Got my order fairly quickly.

Also, I'm not sure it is "illegal." Most online companies charge your card right when you place your order. The shipping comes later, but usually the next business day or one day after. Even with regular brick and mortar merchants, you always pay before the merchandise is actually delivered to you.

25% restocking fee, and the order was never filled or delivered. Seems a bit large to me. I have seen that on some sites but it was clearly marked and included in the order agreemnet.

ISure Buds really needs the 60 cents worth of restocking fees on USPS iinsurance added to the order.

I wouldn't order online any more if I were you. Bud's is straight up about all their practices, and I'd hate to see how you'd handle some of the less principled online retailers.

I've bought three guns from Bud's over the last year and a half or so. Just got an MSAR 556. Absolutely nothing to complain about. I paid with a bank draft so that I would get the lowest price.

The restocking fee is even charged by some of the distributors too, they dont like things going back to them.

Buds charges when you place the order, just like most of us with online systems do. We dont charge a restocking fee except on unfired firearms.

I just got a Mossberg Persuader from them last week, they charged the extra price for a credit card payment, as they said would be done if I paid that way. I agreed to allow it, so no complaint. IMHO, one of the better internet sites to deal with.

Yep, Buds has treated me well with three different orders and it is the first place I look to price anything that I consider buying.
