What type of buffer is working well for you guys in your SBR's? I have other SBR's but I just had a new stamp show up and I figured it's time to start assembling. I have two uppers floating around that will probably spend time on this SBR. 95% of the time it will be a 10.5 inch 300 blk. I will be running it with a Saker 762. It's possible that I would run a 7.5 inch .223 on it but it will be rare. Any suggestions? What is working for you guys? Thanks!

Standard for myself as well. You can add an adjustable gas block for fine tuning too, they are becoming pretty popular. Can tune it for maximum reliability or smoothest operation focused around the ammo you usually shoot.

Especially depending on if you're buying a factory short barrel or having someone cut one of yours down. I've heard of some 'gunsmiths' that adjust the gas hole size incorrectly. I know it took two tries on my AR SBR with a 6" barrel (and pistol length gas tube so I could run a regular rail).

Excellent! Thanks guys! I have another AR SBR but for the life of me I can't remember the buffer tube that gun is using. I think my brother helped me assemble it many years ago. My other SBR's aren't AR's.

My .300 BLK SBR has the following components

10.5" SOTA Arms barrel, pistol gas, with low profile gas block
Carbine buffer tube
Palmetto State H2 buffer

I mention the barrel because gas port location / size matters as much as the buffer setup.

With that gun I reliably cycle the following loads
Supersonic 110gr Barnes Tac-TX with H110 suppressed and un-suppressed
Subsonic 240gr Sierra Match Kings with H110 suppressed and un-suppressed

I'm confused if the OP is asking about the buffer tube (title) or buffer (body of message). Assuming it is the buffer, I will give my advice.

Buffer weight must be matched to the gas system. For a short 300 BLK, for example, many recommend an H2.

Personally, I run adjustable gas blocks and empty buffers on all my ARs. Slide weights serve no real purpose on a semi-auto.

I generally have no complaints about Palmetto products but I had one of their buffers literally fall apart on me and while it had sat in the gun for a while it probably had less than 100 rounds through it. Pretty neat to see the inside though. :)

I'm sorry guys, I meant buffer. In my OP I wrote buffer. While typing my follow up post I was informed that I was late to a meeting, I wasn't concentrating and I was typing quickly and wrote buffer tube. Sorry about that!
