im a prepper and although i plan to bug in i often consider what 3 weapons i would pack with me to go, for me it would have to be

Glock 19
AK-47
Benelli M1

just wondering what your 3 guns would be if you had to bug out

xd 45 would be my pistol
Remmington 870 12 guage pump would be my shot gun.
Since I don't have a rifle other than an old .22, I'd have to take another pistol. That pistol would be a glock 19 with all my extended mags.

If I'm remaining urban or semi-urban:
Glock 22
Ruger Security Six
Browning 20" BPS extended mag

If rural:
Ruger Redhawk
A-Bolt 7mm Rem Mag
Browning 20" BPS extended mag

SA Operator 1911 in .45
My 18" AR with conventional scope
HK MP5 .22

.45 for short range/personal protection.
AR for med to long range/med to large game.
.22 for silent work and small game.

If anything, I would rely on my .22 for 99 percent of my needs. Proper shot placement can put down anything that can't eat your first. Noise signature is minimal. I'd rather no one ever know I was around unless I wanted them to know.

What's with the shotguns?

First, you need to determine how you're bugging out: vehicle or on foot? This would likely impact gun choices.

How much ammo for each gun? For shotguns, how many of what type?

You may be better off bringing two or even one gun and take more ammo for it than trying to take and feed three different guns.

Good timing :)

Here's the thing. THR doesn't do "stuff hitting fans", "bugging out", "zombies" etc.

These threads tend to get silly in a hurry and to be perfectly honest they tend to make gun owners look a little paranoid and wacky.

Valid discussions here are things like "if you had to take one handgun with no chance of getting spares for a while, what would it be" or "what rifle would be good for both self defense and hunting" etc.

Those are real questions with practical applications. If you want to have those discussions it's absolutely on topic. Yes it's just rewording the same basic idea, but it's much more difficult to twist our words around when we speak about real life.
