I need to order some .41 mag brass and have a Coupon from Cabelas I need to use. I was trying to decide whether to order the winchester or starline brass. Any input on which is the best quality? I've used much winchester over the years, but to my knowlege have not used starline unless I just did'nt recognize it as such. What does the starline headstamp look like? Is it good brass?

Although I have no experience with the .41 mag, I reload for .357, .44 mag and .45 Colt calibers. Starline is excellent brass. For that matter, nothing wrong with Winchester either which is what I have the most of.

Starline is high quality brass. The headstamp is two stars with a line between them (get it?). The only time I really prefer Winchester brass over Starline is for the old black powder bottle-necked cartridges like 38-40 and 44-40, because the Winchester brass is a little thinner in the neck. It seems better able to tolerate larger bullets without causing chambering problems, and may obturate to seal the chamber a little better. It's also more prone to getting crushed at the neck, though, if you're ham-handed on the press.

Thanks Guys, Guess I should have investigated a little further on Cabelas website. They don't list any .41 mag brass in the Starline brand anyway, so it's a mute point. Looks like I'll have to order the winchester if I'm getting it from them.
