I Finally made time to load up some of the above bullets that I ordered in bulk a while back. I have been loading various types from pulled to hornady soft points and I must say that these are the worst bullets that I have ever seen. First the bases are no where near similar some are filled out while others have a void, the ongive is inconsistant that my seating depth varied .016 from shortest to longest, and the points on some are pointed while others are more rounded.

They are fine for plinking, but as you have found, they're usually not too accurate in most rifles group wise. Solid base FMJ bullets are a better choice, but do cost a bit more.
Soft point or HP budget bullets from Midsouth and Midway often are more accurate than any FMJ and can be used for varmints or targets. They're made by a major manufacturer and are a great value.

Well, you could have done worse (remington fmj's). IMO, Hornady FMJ's are much better than the Winchester. They're far from match quality, but better than Win.

And the cannelures are all over the place as well, but they are cheap and OK for general plinking. As posted, the Hornady 55 Gr will shoot better, but pretty much any JSP or JHP bullets will shoot better than any FMJ because of the base.

Winchester bulk 55gr FMJ's are just inexpensive, by no means good for much besides short range plinking.

I gave up on them long ago and now use Montana Gold 55gr BT-FMJ's. They are similar to the Hornady's, much more consistent, and accurate in my AR's well beyond 300 yards.

Not any more expensive than the Winchesters if bought by the case of 3500.
