I know many of you use LEE bullet molds. My grandson wants to cast for a .58 Enfield (repo) and we're wondering which of these two would make the best all round bullet, including a little hunting, the "Modern Minie,Target", or the "R-E-A-L" bullet. Both LEE of course.
Thanks in advance,

All around

I would suggest the real bullet for all around - or the original mini bullet. The target mini is very accurate but can't be pushed very fast, making it a short-range hunter due mostly to the drop.

I had a 54 with a ruined bore refreshed to .58 caliber and I'll most likely get the real mould - I like the Lee moulds a lot.

Depends on the rifling IMHO.

If its very shallow, and the corners aren't sharp the LEE REAL mould doesn't seem to work very well. Crisp deep rifling though, the bullet has phenomel accuracy and performance. I've not seen a musket that it work in as well as the original Minie.

They Lyman 577611 mould throws a great all round minie for the .58.
