It's a split decision - the new bullet is the .45 FlatHead. Four people proposed names with either "Flat" or "Head" in them and so they all win:

FirinFlatTop FlatTop
bds Flat Ball
mousegun380 Conehead
FWest Leadhead

If these four folks will email or PM me, I will provide the super-secret 100% discount code for their one box of free bullets of their choice.

Thanks to those who participated, helping get this new bullet of ours off to a great start!

Brad

Thanks Brad!

I am getting ready to put in another order for 45ACP (200/230 gr) so we could maximize on the shipping cost! :D

Actually, I think I'll try a box of the new bullet.

PM sent.

Hey Brad,

Would you consider running an introductory special on these to give us a little extra incentive to try them out:)?

I know I took advantage of the 115 9'mms when they came out.....just a thought!

Thanks-Idahoglock36

Geez Idaho, there's already a 5% break for THR people and I just gave away 5 boxes of bullets to contest participants and I have to pay for these moulds somehow! :)

Brad, I just placed the order for 1500 200 gr SWC, but did not put the "super-secret 100% discount code".

It's order number cw36-97cb-695f-45d1.

Thanks again and will report back as to how well they shoot.

Thanks Brad,

I have been using this type of bullet for some time now, I know it shoots great out of the 1911, just have to load them down to a 1.200 and they work great.

thanks again RC

Bullets At Warp Speed

Just a quick testimonial: Brad moved me into the winners circle Friday afternoon ~1730 hrs. Today (Monday, for you retirees), the box of bullets was on my porch when I got home from work. I continue to believe that he puts orders in the mail before we order them, relying on ESP or witchcraft of some sort. He & JoAnn were (and I think still are) computer geeks, so there may be some sort of Artificial Intelligence at work here :scrutiny: If so, I say keep it up! It just defies conventional wisdom... :what:

My hat's off to them!
Cheers,
George J.

When I took my wife out for lunch today, she smiled and said the box of bullets came.

The USPS box looked like it took a rough ride as all the corners were well rounded, but the outer packaging was intact with four inner boxes in good shape.

Thanks again Brad for the FlatHeads and plan on range testing them soon.

why the hubbub over a lead roundnose bevel based truncated cone bullet?

what roundnose? looks flat to me!

For those wondering what OAL to load those to in the .45 ACP, 1.185-1.225" is the sweet spot. Go longer (1.225) for 1911s and shorter (1.185) for Glock and XD.

Note: Bullet shown is my own cast bullet using the Lee 230gr TC mold.

In my 1911 kimber, i can only load at 1.200 any longer and thay will not load in the barrel.

Went to the range late this morning (continuing my M&P45 trigger job testing) and test shot the FlatHeads.

I loaded test batches at 1.220" - 1.225" OAL using 5.0 gr (4.9 gr actual) of W231/HP38. Both lengths fed fine from the magazine for the M&P45.

Shot groups at 7-10 yards averaged 1"-1.5".

Planning to return back to the range this afternoon for more test shooting.

Brad -
Boy is your wife going to be mad when she finds out that you didn't name that bullet after her. I pity you. Have fun on the couch!

The items were delivered yesterday. Thanks again for the flatheads. I will give them a shot this weekend.
